The digital challenges for fashion brands include shifting consumer behaviors and rapid technological advancements, requiring brands to adapt and innovate.
Selling clothing online removes the one thing that used to close the sale: touching the fabric. Everything a customer would learn by picking a garment up — weight, hand, opacity, whether the collar has structure — has to be communicated some other way. That is the real digital challenge, and most brands still answer it badly.
Two tees photograph identically at 140 g/m² and 237 g/m². On the body they are different garments: one clings and shows what is underneath, the other hangs off the shoulder and holds a line. A photograph cannot carry that difference. A number can.
That is why we publish the gram weight on every product page. The Oversized Heavyweight Tee is 237 g/m². The Boxy Tee is 170 g/m². You know before ordering which one you are getting. The full explanation is in Fabric Weight Explained.
Online shoppers cannot try things on, so sizing has to be stated honestly rather than discovered after delivery. Ours runs European and generous — we say so on the page, and we say when to size down. Our Wide Collar Tee at 200 g/m² carries that note directly in the description.
The same applies to certifications. GOTS, OCS, GRS and OEKO-TEX are independently audited, which means a customer can verify the claim without trusting us.
Speed and volume are what e-commerce rewards and what the environment pays for. The alternative is making to order: nothing is produced before it is bought, so nothing ends up discounted or destroyed. We release fifty designs a year and do not restock. The reasoning is in Made to Order vs Made to Stock.
Pieces built to last are the other half of that. The Pure Cotton Crewneck at 350 g/m² uses no polyester at all and is built with herringbone neck tape and 1×1 rib that stays flat.
Inclusivity in e-commerce is mostly a sizing question. Our Everyday Wide-Leg Pants run 2XS to 4XL on a single block in 300 g/m² cotton with 5% elastane and an adjustable waist — one pattern that works across the range rather than a graded compromise.
Not virtual reality. Specificity. Gram weights, named certifications, honest sizing notes, and photographs that show the back as well as the front. To see how the weights work together across a wardrobe, read Layering by Grammage, or start with Grozavu Icons.
Why can't I tell fabric quality from a photo?
Because weight, hand and opacity do not photograph. A stated gram weight is the closest substitute.
What weight should I look for in a t-shirt?
Around 140 to 170 g/m² for summer, 200 to 237 g/m² for a structured everyday tee that holds its shape.
How do I know a sustainability claim is real?
Look for named, audited certifications — GOTS, OCS, GRS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Unnamed claims cannot be checked.
What does made to order mean for delivery?
Each piece is produced after ordering rather than pulled from stock, which is why nothing is overproduced.
How does Grozavu sizing run?
