Technology in modern fashion brands is essential for staying innovative and competitive in today's market. Explore its impact on luxury streetwear.
Technology in fashion usually gets discussed as virtual fitting rooms and AI styling. The changes that actually matter are duller and further upstream: how yarn is spun, how fabric is dyed, and how production is scheduled against real demand.
Combing removes short fibres. Ring-spinning twists what remains into a smoother, stronger thread. The result is measured in singles — a higher count gives a finer surface.
Our Deep-Cut Sleeveless Tee uses Airlume combed cotton at 32 singles for a fine hand. Our Garment-Dyed Oversized Tee deliberately uses 18 singles for visible texture. Same fibre, opposite intent — the processing decided it, not the origin. More on this in Combed Ring-Spun Cotton: Why the Yarn Matters More Than the Country.
Mill dyeing colours the fabric before the garment is cut, so the shade survives repeated washing — our Mill-Dyed Oversized Hoodie at 340 g/m² is built that way. Garment dyeing does the opposite on purpose, producing uneven colour that deepens with wear. Both are covered in Garment-Dyed, Mill-Dyed, Piece-Dyed.
This is the single biggest factor in whether a black garment still looks black in two years.
The most useful technology in fashion is the boring kind: producing after an order rather than forecasting into a warehouse. It removes overproduction entirely.
We release fifty designs a year and do not restock — see Made to Order vs Made to Stock.
Online, the job is to replace what a customer would learn by touching the fabric. No amount of 3D rendering does that. A stated gram weight does: 237 g/m² on the Oversized Heavyweight Tee, 170 on the Boxy Tee, 350 on the Pure Cotton Crewneck. The reasoning is in Fabric Weight Explained.

What does combed ring-spun actually mean?
Short fibres are combed out, and the rest is ring-spun into a smoother, stronger yarn. It is the main reason one cotton feels better than another.
What are singles?
A measure of yarn fineness. 30 to 32 singles gives a smooth surface; 18 gives visible texture.
Why do black clothes fade?
Usually the dyeing method. Mill-dyed fabric holds colour far better than garment-dyed.
Does 3D design improve the finished garment?
It speeds up development. It does not change how the fabric behaves.
What replaces touching the fabric online?
A stated gram weight, composition and yarn count.
